Allen Robinson To Sign With Chicago Bears

Allen Robinson, one of Penn State’s all-time greatest receivers, is expected to sign with the Chicago Bears when the new league year begins Wednesday.

After spending his first four seasons in Jacksonville, Robinson will reunite with fellow Nittany Lion Adrian Amos in the Windy City.

Robinson’s 2017 campaign came to a close in the season opener when he suffered a torn ACL against the Houston Texans. He hauled in 201 catches and 22 touchdowns during his first three seasons with the Jaguars, including a stellar 1,400-yard year in 2015.

Robinson and Amos were part of Penn State’s legendary “Supa Six,” a close-knit group of teammates that also featured Kyle Carter, Donovan Smith, Deion Barnes, and Bill Belton. Carter was picked up by the New York Giants last season, while Smith has anchored Tampa Bay’s offensive line as the starting left tackle since he entered the league in 2015.

Along with new Kansas City Chief Sammy Watkins, Robinson was one of the most sought after free agents at his position this offseason, and should be an outstanding new weapon for second-year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

Robinson’s deal is reportedly worth $42 million over three years with roughly $25 million guaranteed.
