Forward Will Cuylle Commits To Penn State Hockey

Penn State men’s hockey’s landed a blue-chip recruit on Tuesday evening when forward Will Cuylle verbally committed to the program.
Cuylle’s commitment is quite a coup for the Nittany Lions. The Ontario Hockey League’s Peterborough Petes selected him with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 Priority Selection Draft in April knowing that he would not report to the team. He will not play in the OHL, one of the strongest junior leagues in the world with alumni scattered throughout the NHL.
It is not clear where Cuylle will play next season, but he was selected in the 2018 USHL draft by the Dubuque Fighting Saints, making Dubuque one of his potential destinations. The Toronto native is eligible for the 2020 NHL Draft, but will not begin his NCAA career until either the 2020-21 or the 2021-22 season.
Standing at 6’3″ and weighing in at 201 pounds, the 16-year old already has plenty of size and has a high-level skillset to complement his frame. He skates very well and boasts an accurate, powerful shot. He spent last season with the minor midget Toronto Marlboros, scoring 33 goals and 62 points in 45 games.
