Penn State Football Unveils Icy 2020 Cotton Bowl Champion Rings

Penn State football’s 2019 team certainly just upped its bling game.

The team recently showed off its 2019 Cotton Bowl Champion rings in a flashy video on Twitter.

It looks like winning a big game comes with a big prize because these rings are ICY, folks. The silver-colored jewelry pieces appear to feature shiny diamonds and multiple design intricacies.

The front of the ring features the bowl’s trophy with “Cotton Bowl Champions” inscribed on the perimeter. The inside of the ring is also engraved with the phrases “Attitude,” “Work Ethic,” “Compete,” and “Sacrifice.” These phrases represent the program’s four core values of positive attitude, great work ethic, compete in everything you do, and be willing to sacrifice.

One side of the ring boasts the 53-39 final score above the Cotton Bowl’s logo, while the other side features the individual player’s name, the season record (11-2), and the Nittany Lion. It’s rounded out with a big “1-0” printed underneath, signifying James Franklin’s iconic 1-0 mantra.

We also couldn’t help but notice this lion’s resemblance to Onward State’s very own logo…just saying. Regardless, the lion helps round out an already-flashy and polished ring design. We’ll just keep thinking its our logo.

What a year for bling in the Penn State football program. First the ice god himself Jake Zembiec’s rise to social media stardom, then the debut of the LawnBoyz chain, and now an elite batch of Cotton Bowl rings.

Players like Micah Parsons have already started flaunting their pieces on social media, showing off this year’s special design. It’s just a matter of time before James Franklin runs out of fingers, as this year’s Cotton Bowl marks his fourth championship as head coach.

P.S. — Micah, since we have the same last name, can you please let me take a picture with your ring? Thanks.
