Four-Star Defensive End Ken Talley Commits To Penn State

Penn State football’s 2022 recruiting class just got a lot stronger.

Four-star defensive end Ken Talley announced his decision to join the Nittany Lions via Twitter Tuesday afternoon. He is the sixth player to join James Franklin’s 2022 recruiting class and is the first defensive player to join the group.

Talley hails from Northeast High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is currently ranked as the seventh-best player in Pennsylvania by 247Sports. Additionally, he is ranked as the 165th-best player in the nation, which makes him the second-highest ranked recruit to join Penn State so far during this cycle. According to ESPN, Talley is the 16th-best defensive end in the 2022 recruiting class.

The 6’3″, 230-pound defensive end has received a total of 24 offers so far, including looks from Arizona State and Tennessee. Five other Big Ten schools — Maryland, Michigan State, Michigan, Nebraska, and Rutgers — have made offers to Talley.

He is the third in-state prospect to join Penn State’s class of 2022. He joins three-star York quarterback Beau Pribula and four-star Downingtown offensive tackle Drew Shelton.

Currently, the Nittany Lions have Shaka Toney and Jayson Oweh anchoring the defensive end positions for Brent Pry’s defense. Looking ahead, Penn State added just one defensive end, Rodney McGraw, to its 2021 recruiting class. Talley’s commitment provides the Nittany Lions with some much-needed talent and depth at the defensive end position moving forward.
