[Photo Story] Living The Gourd Life At Harner Farm
At long last, fall has finally arrived in Happy Valley.
The trees are changing colors, the air is getting colder, and local farms and markets are gearing up for fall festivities. Located just outside of State College off of Route 26, Harner Farm is a perfect place to spend these gorgeous fall weekends.
At the farm, visitors can take part in a wide variety of fall-themed (and socially distant) activities. From apple picking to posing with pumpkins, there’s no shortage of things for folks of all ages to enjoy.
If you’re feeling particularly brave enough, try your luck at finding your way through the farm’s haunted corn maze. I won’t spoil what was inside, but boy was it spooky.
Corn mazes not your thing? Stop into the farmer’s market and shop through a plethora of freshly picked apples, tomatoes, pumpkins, and other locally sourced and produced goodies, like homemade jams, jellies, and baked goods.
If looking at all of those delicious apples makes you hungry, there’s plenty of tasty treats to enjoy. From candy apples to homemade chili and hot cider, plentiful options will ensure you don’t leave with an empty stomach.
On your way out, be sure to admire the stunning foliage along the mountainsides.
