Penn State-Ohio State To Kick Off At 7:30 P.M.
Here. We. Go.
No. 8 Penn State football’s week two home opener against No. 5 Ohio State will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, October 31. The Halloween matchup will be broadcast on ABC.
It has yet to be announced whether ESPN’s College GameDay will be on the scene for this highly anticipated contest between Big Ten powerhouses. Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and the rest of the crew have “come to our city” for three consecutive seasons, including Penn State’s 2018 White Out clash with the Buckeyes.
When these squads met last year, the gamed started at noon as part of FOX’s “B1G Noon Kickoff.” The Nittany Lions’ 2017 trip to Columbus was also broadcast on FOX and began at 3:30 p.m., while the 2018 game got primetime billing on ABC for the White Out.
James Franklin hasn’t beaten Ohio State since the famous 2016 White Out victory, which sparked a nine-game win streak that included a Big Ten Championship victory. However, the Nittany Lions lost by just a point in their 2017 and 2018 defeats to the Buckeyes.
If recent history is any indication, this top-ten battle will be a fun one to watch under the lights at Beaver Stadium. Even with no fans in attendance, we’ll see if those cardboard cutouts will make any difference at what will be the strangest, spookiest home opener in the stadium’s history.
