The Official Penn State-Rutgers Drinking Game

The boys are back, baby!

The Nittany Lions secured their first win of the season last week against Michigan 27-17. This week, Penn State football will travel to Rutgers in hopes of improving to 2-5.

Although Penn State boasts a 28-2 all-time record against the Scarlet Knights, this season has been anything but normal. With true freshmen in starting positions and a quarterback controversy brewing, anything is possible this week.

If you’re a little uneasy about this game like the rest of us, don’t worry! A little drinking game will cure all the nerves. So crack open a cold one and enjoy this week’s rendition.

  • Take a shot every time you hear “true freshman” as an adjective on the broadcast.
  • Finish your drink for any mention of a Penn State-Rutgers rivalry. It doesn’t exist!
  • Take a long slip if Rutgers increases its touchdown total against Penn State since joining the Big Ten. It’s at two right now, folks.
  • Take a shot if Sean Clifford throws an interception. It didn’t happen last week, but you never know! The whole team’s been pretty turnover-prone this season.
  • Heck, take another shot if you hear anything about the Land-Grant Trophy during the broadcast. The ugliest greatest trophy in college football will be on display next week when Penn State takes on Michigan State!
  • Shotgun a beer for every showing of Penn State fans taking over Rutgers’ student section. Oh, how we miss in-person games.
  • If Penn State loses, consume all alcohol within your reach and blast “Marvin’s Room.”
  • Consume all alcohol within your reach if Penn State wins, too. You deserve it after suffering through this season.

No matter who comes out on top, enjoy the game, stay safe, and drink responsibly!
