Penn State Baseball Releases 2021 Schedule

Penn State baseball’s 2021 season is almost here, folks.

Following a long offseason that started all the way back on March 12, the team announced its 2021 schedule Wednesday night.

Penn State will play a 13-week, conference-only schedule beginning on March 5. In order to allow room for postponements, there won’t be a Big Ten Baseball Tournament this season.

The Nittany Lions will travel to U.S. Bank Stadium, the home of the Minnesota Vikings (!!), to start their season against Northwestern. From there, they’ll travel to Indiana to take on the Hoosiers from March 12 to March 14.

The first home series for Penn State will start on Friday, March 19 against Maryland. The following weekend, the Nittany Lions remain at Medlar Field for a series against the Michigan Wolverines.

Overall, Rob Cooper’s squad will host five weekend series’– Maryland (March 19 to March 21), Michigan (March 26 to March 28), Nebraska (April 16 to April 18), Michigan State (April 30 to May 2), and Rutgers/Minnesota (May 14 to May 16).

The squad will hit the road a total of eight times to play 10 different teams — Northwestern (March 5 to March 7), Indiana (March 12 to March 14), Rutgers (April 2 to April 4), Michigan State/Purdue (April 9 to April 11), Ohio State (April 23 to April 25), Iowa (May 7 to May 9), Illinois (May 21 to May 23), and Purdue/Minnesota (May 28 to May 30).

Penn State will try to build off a promising 10-5 record during last year’s shortened season.
