Kate Colgan Named THON 2022 Executive Director

Just weeks after THON Weekend wrapped up, the organization already has its sights set on next year’s fundraiser. To kick things off, THON named Kate Colgan its executive director for THON 2022.

“We are excited to watch your goals and visions for THON 2022 take flight over the next year and beyond,” THON said on Twitter. “Thank you for all you do and will continue to do, For The Kids!”

Colgan, a rising senior public relations major, served as THON 2021’s Fundraising Safety director. She previously volunteered for the committee as a captain for fundraising outreach and online giving. She first got involved with THON as a Rules & Regulations committee member for THON 2018.

“THON is truly one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced. The outpouring of love from Penn State students for people many have never even met is unparalleled,” Colgan told Onward State last month. “I THON for a day when no parent has to hear the words, ‘Your child has cancer.’ I THON for those I have met along my journey who have taught me strength and inspired me to never give up. I THON for more laughter and smiles, for more birthdays and celebrations. I THON for a future without cancer.”

Colgan’s first task in her new position will be selecting the other directors to fill out her executive committee over the coming weeks.

Congratulations, Kate!
