Looking Back On Mac O’Keefe’s 5 Best Goals In Honor Of His 200th

Mac O’Keefe holds many records for both Penn State and the NCAA. The star Nittany Lion tied the record for most goals in an NCAA Tournament game with nine and also recorded the most goals in a season with 78 as a junior, which broke the previous record of 51 — also held by him.

O’Keefe was also selected No. 15 overall this past fall by the San Diego Seals in the NLL Draft but elected to play this season with Penn State.

The graduate student just scored the 200th goal of his career Saturday against Michigan. Now, he’s only 10 goals shy of being the all-time leader in NCAA history.

In honor of O’Keefe surpassing 200 goals, check out five of his best (so far) in his Nittany Lion career.

Penn State vs. Johns Hopkins, 2019

O’Keefe scored six goals in this game against the Blue Jays, paving the way for Penn State’s first-ever Big Ten Championship win. Check out this overtime winner, the type of play every kid dreams about making.

This sweet behind-the-back goal by O’Keefe is by far one of his smoothest in his career. He put on a clinic in a big game and made this goal look way too easy.

Penn State vs. Loyola, 2019

O’Keefe was insane this game scoring nine goals, tying an NCAA Tournament record for the most goals in a game. Penn State ended up winning this one 21-14 to advance to the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament. O’Keefe’s junior season is one for the books, with this goal being a highlight of a video game-like performance.

Penn State vs. Michigan, 2021

This one is automatically one of his best goals just because it is number 200. He is now only 10 goals away from being the all-time leader in history and still has five games to do that. This shot was a bullet and helped Penn State take the lead early, although it ended up dropping the game.

Penn State vs. Maryland, 2017

As a freshman, O’Keefe broke the Penn State record for goals in a single season with 51. In this matchup, he notched a hat trick, including this beauty of him finding a way to somehow score despite being pushed in the back.
