Movin’ On 2021 To Be Held Virtually April 30

Movin’ On’s 2021 music festival will be held virtually this spring, the organization said Tuesday.

This year’s event will be streamed virtually through Zoom and a livestream produced by WPSU Radio. Movin’ On said it chose not to hold in-person festivities due to the coronavirus pandemic and recommendations put in place by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Movin’ On’s festival is set to begin on Friday, April 30, to commemorate the last day of classes this spring. The organization said it’ll announce more specific details, including times, in the coming weeks.

Movin’ On hasn’t revealed its upcoming lineup just yet. The organization said it’ll still feature a mix of headliners, Student Programming Association-sponsored performers, and student acts.

The festival will host a virtual battle of the bands-esque event, aptly titled just “Battle” this year, on April 15. The winner will get to perform at Movin’ On’s full virtual festival two weeks later.

Last year’s Movin’ On festival was ultimately canceled due to the ongoing pandemic. Its lineup would’ve featured Foster The People, Sasha Sloan, Lil Yachty, and Two Friends.
