Penn State Women’s Volleyball’s Kaitlyn Hord, Jonni Parker Named All-Americans

For the third year in a row, Penn State women’s volleyball stars Kaitlyn Hord and Jonni Parker are All-Americans.

Hord, junior a middle blocker, received third-team AVCA Division I All-American honors Wednesday morning following an impressive spring season. Last year, she was Penn State’s lone first-team All-American.

Hord started all 16 matches for the Nittany Lions this season and racked up 147 kills on .421 hitting, good for third on the team. She also paced Penn State with a whopping 79 total blocks this spring.

Additionally, right side hitter Parker received honorable mention All-American honors. A fellow junior, she led the team with 194 kills in 16 matches and checked in right behind Hord with 53 total blocks. Parker also tacked on 129 digs and 14 service aces to round off a strong season.

Parker received honorable mention All-American honors in 2019, too.

In 2019, five Nittany Lions earned All-American recognition.

Penn State’s spring season came to a close Sunday when the Nittany Lions fell to No. 4 seed Texas in the NCAA Tournament’s regional semifinals. But with its entire starting lineup set to return, Penn State should be more than prepared to compete yet again when it returns to the court this fall.
