Penn State Hoops Guard DJ Gordon Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State men’s basketball suffered another loss to the transfer portal Thursday. Freshman guard DJ Gordon has entered the portal, and now becomes the eighth Nittany Lion to do so this offseason.

The 6’5″ guard from Pittsburgh only played in six games last season, and almost all of them came in late-game situations. His most notable performance came against Illinois, when he played seven minutes and scored his only points of the season.

Before committing to Penn State, Gordon received offers from Iowa, Arizona State, Cincinnati, and Dayton. The only other school he went on an official visit to was Iowa. It’s unclear if any of those schools will be in play in the transfer portal.

Gordon joins Izaiah Brockington as the only Nittany Lions currently in the transfer portal. However, Seth Lundy and John Harrar have both decided to return to Happy Valley after stints in the portal shortly after Micah Shrewsberry was hired.

Shrewsberry has already been very active in the transfer portal himself. He secured commitments from guards Jaheam Cornwall and Jalen Pickett this past weekend, and has made good on his promise so far that will be an active recruiter right off the bat.
