Report: DaeSean Hamilton Waived By Denver Broncos

Former Penn State football receiver DaeSean Hamilton’s time with the Denver Broncos is reportedly over for now, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

According to Garafolo, Denver attempted to trade the Nittany Lion before assigning him to waivers. Each NFL team will have an opportunity to sign Hamilton to their roster before he becomes a free agent.

Garafolo, however, says it’s a “strong possibility” another team claims him before he clears waivers. With stars like Jerry Jeudy and fellow Nittany Lion KJ Hamler ahead of Hamilton on the Broncos’ depth chart, Denver may no longer have been a great fit for him.

Hamilton has spent all three of his professional seasons with the Broncos after they selected him in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. To date, he’s racked up 833 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 81 catches throughout his NFL career.

Hamilton spent four seasons in Happy Valley and was a key member of Penn State’s 2016 Big Ten title team. He totaled 214 receptions (the most in program history), 2842 yards, and 18 scores as a Nittany Lion. He was also named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team following an impressive first year in Happy Valley.
