The Corner Room Temporarily Closes For Renovations

Update, July 26: The Corner Room’s renovations will continue through July 29 when it reopens for lunch and dinner, according to an update on its website.

The restaurant’s breakfast services are slated to return by August 13.

Original Story: The beloved Corner Room in downtown State College has temporarily closed its doors for renovations, according to the restaurant’s website.

The downtown staple shut its doors on July 12. According to the site, it intends on reopening on Monday, July 26.

According to a Facebook post, the renovations will bring back the restaurant’s breakfast counter from the 1930s and “refresh the facility.” Additionally, The Corner Room said it’s “excited to work its way back” to breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week this fall.

Work is also being done to the restaurant’s exterior walls and siding. Similar work was done earlier this summer to Bill Pickle’s Tap Room just down Allen Street. It’s likely no coincidence both properties are owned and managed by Hotel State College.
