Penn State Announces Parking Adjustments For Fall 2021 Move-In

Penn State will implement a number of on-campus parking changes next week as students get set to return to campus.

Starting Monday, August 16, the university will close Lot 22, Lot 42, Lot 81, and Lot 82 for unloading during the move-in period. Students who have permits for these areas must move their vehicles by Sunday, August 15. Vehicles will need to be moved to Jordan East or Stadium West during this period.

Permit holders in Lot 22 (Eastview Terrace), Lot 42 (Nittany Apartments), Lot 81 (South/Pollock Halls), and Lot 82 (East Halls) will be able to return to their assigned parking areas at 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 22.

Permit holders in the faculty and staff lots listed below must park in the following lots from Monday, August 16 through Sunday, August 22 to allow for student unloading:

  • Brown E: Must park at Nittany Deck, Eisenhower Deck, Jordan East, or Stadium West.
  • Green C: Must park at Nittany Deck, Eisenhower Deck, Jordan East, or Stadium West.
  • Green N: Must park at Nittany Deck, Eisenhower Deck, Jordan East, or Stadium West.
  • Orange B (Softball): Must park at other Orange lots (not including Orange A Katz), Jordan East, or Stadium West.
  • Yellow H (IM Building): Must park at other Yellow H lots, Jordan East, or Stadium West.
  • Yellow J: Must park at Eisenhower Deck, Jordan East, or Stadium West.
  • Yellow T: Must park at Eisenhower Deck, Jordan East, or Stadium West.

Burrowes Road will allow southbound traffic only between Curtin and Pollock Road on Monday, August 16, through Saturday, August 21, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The East Deck/Yellow D Tener and the HUB Deck will have some adjustments as well.

Yellow D (East Deck & Tener Lot), Beginning Thursday, August 12

  • Level 1 and the west sides of levels 2 and 3 will be reserved for student unloading from Thursday, August 12, through Sunday, August 22.
  • The Yellow D surface lot will be closed from Thursday, August 12, through Sunday, August 22.
  • Heavy traffic is to be expected near East Deck, which may result in times when access to the section of Bigler Road located between Curtin Road and Park Avenue is restricted.
  • Permit holders for Yellow D are encouraged to park at Jordan East or Stadium West.
  • Hourly visitor parking will be limited.

Yellow C (HUB Deck)

  • Sections of HUB Deck parking located below the plaza level entrance will be reserved for student unloading from Monday, August 16, through Sunday, August 22.
  • Should the deck reach capacity, Eisenhower Deck, Jordan East, and Stadium West are available to Yellow C permit holders.
  • Hourly visitor parking will be limited.

From Monday, August 16, to Friday, August 20, CATA’s Blue Loop and Red Link will operate on a reduced service schedule. The full-service schedule will resume on Saturday, August 21.

Additionally, the Campus Shuttle will continue to operate normally from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

However, due to southbound traffic on Burrowes Road between Curtin and Pollock Road, any northbound CATA and Campus Shuttle stops will not be in service from Monday, August 16, to Saturday, August 21. This change will impact stops at Reber Building, Deike Building, Hosler Building, Waring Commons, and Rec Hall.
