SPA To Host ‘Humans Of New York’ Founder Brandon Stanton For Lecture September 13

Penn State’s Student Programming Association (SPA) will host influential speaker and photographer Brandon Stanton for a guest lecture at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 13, in the HUB’s Alumni Hall.

Stanton is the brain behind Humans of New York, a street portrait blog that features interviews with people on the streets of New York City. He also shares these New Yorkers’ stories with his 11 million Instagram followers.

Although he is best known for Humans of New York, Stanton is also a New York Times best-selling author, with “People of New York” staying on the list for 45 weeks. In his latest book, “Humans,” Stanton speaks about his journey traveling the globe for five years, sharing photos and stories of the people he met in over 40 countries.

Like every SPA event, the lecture is free for Penn State students and funded by their student-initiated fee.
