Saquon Barkley To Serve As College GameDay’s Guest Picker

Penn State football legend Saquon Barkley will serve as College GameDay’s guest picker while the show broadcasts from Happy Valley Saturday morning, according to the broadcast’s bottom ticker.

Barkley will help conclude the program by offering up his picks for today’s games, including the No. 10 Nittany Lions’ matchup with No. 22 Auburn. He’ll hop up on stage alongside Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, and the rest of the fellas.

Although Saturday serves as Barkley’s debut as a guest picker on the program, it’s far from his first appearance on ESPN’s flagship morning show. The former Penn State running back was the engine behind the Nittany Lions’ offense when GameDay visited back in 2017.

Barkley debuted at Penn State in 2015 and went on to piece together one of the program’s all-time best careers. He left Happy Valley in 2017 as an All-American and two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.

Barkley also set Penn State records for career rushing touchdowns (43) and the most yards in a single game (358), among others.

The New York Giants selected Barkley No. 2 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. He quickly impressed en route to being named the Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Recently, Barkley returned to the NFL after tearing his ACL early in the 2020 NFL season. He also just announced he’s launching his own line of signature Nike sneakers.
