Three-Star Center Demetrius Lilley Commits To Penn State Hoops

Micah Shrewsberry is on a roll.

The Penn State men’s basketball head coach added the fifth commit to his Class of 2022 Friday afternoon in the form of three-star center Demetrius Lilley. Lilley, who hails from Ardmore, Pa., announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions via Instagram.

The 6’10”, 230-pounder is the second center to join Shrewsberry’s 2022 class. He now joins four-star Indiana prospect Kebba Nije, who committed to Penn State just last Saturday.

Lilley has also received offers from Bryant, Texas A&M, and La Salle. Now entering his senior season at Lower Merion High School, the center is ranked as the No. 7 prospect in Pennsylvania and the No. 39 player at his position in the country, according to 247Sports.

Philly basketball site, City of Basketball Love, describes Lilley as a “skilled, versatile, solid-bodied ‘4’ man.”

“Active on the offensive end with or without the ball, he knows how to position himself for slip-throughs and play off guards, and he’s a confident finisher with both hands around the rim.”

Lilley and Nije bring size to a recruiting class that also welcomes guards Jameel Brown and Kanye Clary, as well as small forward Evan Mahaffey. With five players verbally committed, Shrewsberry now boasts a top-ten recruiting class that’s also the largest in the nation.
