State College Named Nation’s Best College Football Town By ESPN Fans

It’s official! After about a month of voting by fans of ESPN’s college football Twitter account, State College has been deemed the winner of the “ESPN Football Town Showdown.” The victory only confirms what we already know: State College is the best college football town in the United States.

In the final, State College took town Baton Rouge, home of the 2019 National Champion LSU Tigers, by 44,024 votes. Happy Valley wound up taking 56.3% of the final tally.

State College also took down Morgantown, West Virginia, home of the West Virginia Mountaineers, and Tuscaloosa, Alabama, home of the Alabama Crimson Tide, on its path to the finals.

The Nittany Lions have a bye this week, but football will return to the newly crowned “Best College Football Town in America” when Penn State faces Illinois at home on Saturday, October 23. Kickoff is set for noon on ABC.
