Penn State To Unveil 2022 Class Gift October 19

Penn State’s Student Philanthropy Network will officially reveal this year’s Class Gift on Tuesday, October 19.

The group will unveil the winning gift with a ceremony in the HUB and symbolically begin fundraising for it. Students are welcome to join the Student Philanthropy Network at the Monumental Stairs (better known to most as the “High School Musical” stairs) at 3:30 p.m.

Here’s a brief rundown on this year’s three Class Gift finalists:

Support For Complete Penn State

The Complete Penn State program provides support to students in the last two semesters of their undergraduate career facing financial or personal hardships that threaten their ability to finish their degree. Support for the program would help offer re-enrollment support, mentoring, scholarship assistance, and more to keep students on track.

Penn State Learning Video Library

Penn State Learning’s digital library of video tutorials has helped students access educational materials since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Support for the program would help establish “a more robust video library” that provides resources for all Penn State students.

Support For The UHS-UPUA Wellness Fund

The UHS/UPUA Wellness Fund helps students cover medical bills they can’t otherwise afford. All students are eligible for the fund, but there is no guarantee that any given student will receive any money from it. Support for the fund will help expand the program and provide more resources to assist more students.

Check our site Tuesday afternoon for more information on this year’s Class Gift once it’s unveiled. The Student Philanthropy Network’s website should have more information, too.
