Penn State To Host Global Entrepreneurship Week Events Beginning November 8

Penn State will once again recognize Global Entrepreneurship Week, a program designed for networking and collaboration, with a string of events next week from November 8 through 12.

Programming, including guest lectures, seminars, and workshops, will be available in a mix of in-person, virtual, or hybrid formats. Attendees do not need to be affiliated with Penn State, and all of the events are free.

Global Entrepreneurship Week takes place in more than 180 countries and averages over 10 million annual participants. Penn State’s version of the program focuses on the university and the local community. The expansive cast of presenters ranges from business consultant Tom Keiffer to local groups like Centre Region Entrepreneur Network and Women’s Networking Group of State College.

“Global Entrepreneurship Week Penn State provides robust tools and resources to help entrepreneurs explore, network and learn,” event coordinator Elizabeth Fegert said. “Whether you’re an experienced or aspiring entrepreneur, there are a wide variety of opportunities to learn more about entrepreneurial topics such as policy, ecosystems, diversity and inclusion, and more.”

This year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week is hosted by Penn State’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC), which is providing funding in cooperation with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The program is also in partnership with Invent Penn State, an initiative founded by university president Eric Barron that provides resources to young entrepreneurs.
