[Photo Story] 2021 THON Family Carnival

For the first time in two years, friends, families, and volunteers gathered for THON’s Family Carnival at Penn State’s Multi-Sport Indoor Facility on Sunday. The afternoon featured games, activities, and live entertainment to “embody the excitement” of THON Weekend.

Here’s a look at the Family Carnival through our staff’s lenses.

This year’s Family Carnival theme was “Navigate the Night: Launching into Brighter Tomorrows”. The message goes hand-in-hand with THON’s 2022 theme, “Spark Endless Light”.

Even the Four Diamonds mascot made an appearance to make some kids’ days.

This year’s Family Carnival placed a big emphasis on sports and games. All afternoon long, kids were able to show off their skills through a host of competitions.

Some more ~intense~ games and workouts even required some pretend CPR. Cute!

By the end of the day, it was clear how special the Family Carnival was for families and volunteers alike. In-person events like this returning only make the excitement for THON Weekend even stronger.
