Penn State Resolutions To Adopt In The New Year

Happy new year, Penn State. The start of 2022 is the perfect opportunity to start fresh and kick the bad habits. Even when you’re in college, there are plenty of ways for Penn Staters to improve themselves and their lives. 2022 is your year to shine!

We’ve complied ways for Penn State students to change their behaviors for the better this year. Now, it’s up to you to make this year count.

Buy Local Coffee Downtown Instead Of Starbucks

Sure, Starbucks and Dunkin are convenient, but you’re better than that. Treat yo’ self in 2022 and support local businesses at the same time. Explore the downtown coffee scene this year, and check out newer shops like Vibe Coffee and Crust and Crumb on your way to class. You never know when your favorite coffee shop might close down.

Unsubscribe From Email LISTSERVs

If you attended any involvement fairs during your time at Penn State, you’re likely still receiving emails from the Ski Club and Coffee Club. As you enter the new year, clean out your inbox and go through the simple steps of taking your name off of these lists you’ve never really belonged to.

Walk To The Frats Instead Of Ubering From East

~Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you know~

Invest in a fracket and face the cold. The walk downtown might be far, but your wallet will thank you in 2022.

Attend Class

It’s so simple, but it’s always the most difficult one….

Give Your Alcohol Plug A Day’s Notice Instead Of 15 Minutes Before The Function

Be ? Better ?. If not, you’ll be drinking water at the daylong.

Use The Canvas Calendar

Did you know you can add your own events to the Canvas calendar and color code it, too? 2022 is your year to get back on track and never need to drop a class.

Condition Yourself To Wake Up To Your Alarm So You *Actually* Get Student Football Tickets

Everybody knows that one person who overslept when it came time to purchase football student tickets, and maybe you were that friend. If you slowly condition yourself to wake up to your alarm clock, you’ll never have to use Onward State’s ticket exchange again this fall.

Take A Spin Bike To Class Instead Of A CATA Bus

Oh, the joy of riding an electric-assisted bike across campus. In 2022, we won’t be relying on the Bloop to get us to class when we have access to speedy bicycles that will give us a killer physique.

Schedule A Meeting With Your Adviser

Maybe it’s your junior year and you have no idea who your academic adviser is. That’s OK, but there’s someone out there who is assigned (and paid!) to help you succeed. Log in to Starfish and set up a meeting with them to figure out your life and ensure that you’re on track to graduate.

Go Home On The Weekends Without Getting Canyon Or Yallah

Believe it or not, you can go home after a night out without stopping for late-night food. Whether your go-to is Canyon, Yallah, the Halal Cart, or Sheetz….you don’t need to get it every single weekend. Everything in moderation!

Stay In The Student Section Until The Fourth Quarter Ends

No matter how cold you are or how sober you’ve become, tough it out for the memories and for Penn State football. One day, you’ll look back and regret not staying the entirety of the games with your friends. So, in this 2022 season, fix your bad habit.

Close Your Tab At The Basement

In 2022, we are not leaving the bar with opened tabs.
