[Photo Story] Penn State’s First Snow Of The Spring Semester

While snow may not be out of the ordinary here in central Pennsylvania, there is always something special about the first snowstorm of the year. With everyone back on campus, Monday’s snowfall brought a unique blend of beauty and fun to Penn State.

Let’s take a look at some pictures of a snow-covered campus from the last two days.

As the snow began falling downtown, people didn’t waste time taking advantage.

Students used whatever they could get their hands on to go sledding. Some went with logical choices like skis, snowboards, and sleds, while others chose to use unconventional objects like laundry baskets and move-in carts.

As the night went on, the snow continued to pile on the grass and pathways, leaving campus covered in white for the morning.

As the morning rolled around, students took advantage of their day off to enjoy the time outside and build some snowmen.

Campus looked as beautiful as ever in the snow, with some of Penn State’s most recognizable sights covered in white.

Whether it was night or day, the sledding continued. Students continued to use whatever they could get their hands on to sled down the HUB Lawn.

The fields behind Medlar Field at Lubrano Park were a particularly popular choice for some afternoon sledding.

There will surely be more snow to come this semester, but this first one was definitely a snowstorm to remember.
