Katie Jones Breaks Penn State Women’s Indoor Pole Vault Record

Penn State senior Katie Jones set a women’s indoor pole vault program record over the weekend during the Sykes Sabock Challenge.

Jones posted a 4.27-meter vault to etch herself in for a new Penn State record. In doing so, the 2020 Big Ten champion broke her own previously set 4.25-meter pole vault record.

Aside from holding the women’s indoor pole vault record, Jones is also ranked second in the outdoor pole vault at 4.15 meters.

Penn State’s track and field team is scheduled to compete next at the Armory Collegiate Challenge in New York City on February 4 and 5.
