THON 2022 Prop Bets
Welcome to THON 2022, folks.
With THON back in the Bryce Jordan Center after last year’s virtual format, there’s sure to be no shortage of electric performances and fun events. Do you know what that means? Time for some (fake) bets!
For those not familiar with prop bets, Onward State co-founder Evan Kalikow put it best: “A prop bet is short for proposition bet. Basically, it’s a bet on something not commonly betted upon. For example, lots of people bet on the score of the Super Bowl, but how many people bet on how many times the winning coach will say ‘humbled’ in the postgame press conference? That’s a prop bet.”
It’s important to note that Onward State is NOT a gambling site. All the betting odds listed below are completely made up. We don’t encourage you to bet on THON, but we do encourage you to have fun.

Prop Bets
Eric Barron’s Impending Retirement Is Mentioned In The Line Dance: 1-2
Eri Barron infamously announced his intent to retire just before THON 2021 started. Barron’s retirement has to be a lock for the line dance, no?
Micah Parsons Is Mentioned In The Line Dance: 2-1
The NFL’s newly minted Defensive Rookie of the Year became a national star over the past year. You have to think there’s room for Parsons in the line dance considering how impactful he’s been at the next level. Heck, Miles Sanders got a shoutout in the 2019 line dance.
Neeli Bendapudi Makes An Appearance: 5-1
Could Penn State’s future madame president show up? We think there’s a pretty good chance.
Someone Gets Booted From THON For Failing To Comply With COVID-19 Guidelines: 8-1
It’s really not that hard, people. However, there’s always at least one person who just can’t get it together.
One Of Trace McSorley, Saquon Barkley, Or Mike Gesicki Show Up At THON: 10-1
Give the people what they want! If one of these former Penn State stars show up, the BJC would for sure be electric.
Pep Rally Winner
- Men’s gymnastics: 1-2
- Wrestling: 3-1
- Women’s volleyball: 3-1
- Football: 5-1
- Women’s soccer: 6-1
- Men’s soccer: 6-1
- Women’s basketball: 10-1
- Men’s basketball: 12-1
If you remember correctly, last year’s virtual THON Pep Rally had no official winner. In fact, you were the winner (not really).
We expect there to be an actual winner this year. Quite honestly, if it’s not men’s gymnastics, we’d be stunned. Those guys are so sick, man.
Most Played Song
- Mr. Brightside: 2-1
- Zombie Nation: 3-1
- Any Jonas Brothers song: 5-1
- Sweet Caroline: 10-1
- Valerie: 15-1
- Levitating: 50-1
We like Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” as a big-time dark horse here.
When Will The Bryce Jordan Center Reach Capacity On Sunday?
- Before 1 a.m.: 20-1
- Between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.: 15-1
- Between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m.: 8-1
- It won’t: 5-1
The past two times we’ve had an in-person THON, the BJC failed to reach capacity at any point. With COVID-19 still hanging around, do we expect that to change this year? Who knows.
