Jahan Dotson To Be Featured On ESPN’s ‘Hey, Rookie’

For the fifth year in a row, a Penn State prospect’s journey to the NFL Draft will be documented on ESPN’s “Hey Rookie, Welcome To The NFL.”

This year, the cameras are on wide receiver Jahan Dotson, among other prospects, as he trains for the upcoming draft. Dotson revealed he was filming for the show on Wednesday when he posted about it on his Instagram story.

Each year, “Hey, Rookie” focuses on the lives of high-profile draft-eligible players, following them through their pre-draft training, the NFL Combine, and stops through their personal lives. Traditionally, the show culminates with the draft itself.

Dotson is now the fifth Penn Stater to be featured on the show in recent years. Last year, ESPN followed linebacker Micah Parsons’ journey to the draft and featured a trip to the Berkey Creamery. In 2020, “Hey, Rookie” documented KJ Hamler’s close family ties. In 2019, ESPN featured Trace McSorely’s journey to the draft and shined a light on the quarterback’s underdog story. The year before documented Saquon Barkley’s wild journey to the draft, which featured a stop at Gator World.

According to Dotson’s Instagram story, he’ll be featured on “Hey, Rookie” on Wednesday, April 27. Before that, he’ll take part in this year’s Penn State Pro Day on Thursday, March 24, alongside 15 other Nittany Lions.
