Penn State Softball-Ohio State Doubleheader Rescheduled

Update, 7 p.m.: Hours after announcing a postponement, Penn State softball now says its doubleheader against Ohio State has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 19.

Game one will begin at 3 p.m., while the second game is slated to start at 5:30 p.m. Both will be played on the road in Columbus, Ohio.

Original Story: Penn State was set to face off against Ohio State in a doubleheader on Tuesday, but the games were postponed due to cold and rainy weather headed toward Columbus, the team announced Monday.

While the highest temperature is going to be in the 50s on Tuesday, an 80% chance of rain, per AccuWeather, is the real enemy for this rivaled matchup. The forecast also calls for scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon.

This is the only time the Nittany Lions are set to play the Buckeyes, but a media release from the team states that another date will be announced for later in the season.

Following the now four-day break, Penn State will travel to Ann Arbor for a three-game series against Michigan starting at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 8.
