THON 2023 Spring Captain Applications Now Open

Think you’re ready to help lead Penn State’s 46-hour dance marathon? THON is now accepting spring captain applications for THON 2023.

Applications must be submitted through an online form on THON’s website by 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 15.

Applicants are required to submit a resume, provide schedule availability, enter academic information, list two references, and answer five open-ended responses regarding experience, interests, and goals for THON. Applicants are also asked to rank their top three committee preferences out of the 16 that are available. A complete description of spring captain roles can be found here.

Spring captain positions in the following 16 committees are available:

  • Communications
  • Dancer Relations
  • Donor & Alumni Relations Alumni Engagement
  • Donor & Alumni Relations Development
  • Entertainment
  • Family Relations
  • Finance
  • Hospitality
  • Merchandise
  • OPPerations
  • Public Relations
  • R&R Event Safety
  • R&R Fundraising Safety
  • Special Events
  • Supply Logistics
  • Technology

Be sure to choose your desired committee wisely. Dancer Relations, Entertainment, Family Relations, Hospitality, Merchandise, OPPerations, Public Relations, R&R Event Safety, and R&R Fundraising Safety captains are not eligible to dance during THON Weekend.

While the event is 10 months away, THON 2023 is already planning for the upcoming year. Lily Pevoto became executive director in March and later formed THON 2023’s executive committee.
