Former Penn State Transfer Antonio Valentino Signs With New York Giants

Former Penn State defensive lineman Antonio Valentino signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent on Saturday following the 2022 NFL Draft.

In New York, Valentino will join former Nittany Lions stars, including running back Saquon Barkley and defensive lineman Cam Brown.

Before the 2021 season, Valentino transferred from Penn State’s program and joined the Florida Gators. There, he recorded 23 tackles (including three for a loss) and a sack.

In his time at Penn State, Valentino started 20 games over four seasons. A frequent fixture on the defensive line, Valentino totaled 51 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and six sacks as a Nittany Lion.

Valentino was, at times, a polarizing figure, simultaneously serving as a vocal and energetic leader of the defensive line unit but also a target of criticism for events like his one-game suspension after allegedly spitting on an opposing player midgame.

Valentino was recruited as a three-star defensive lineman from Westerville, Ohio before he committed to Penn State in 2016.
