John Harrar To Compete In ‘The Basketball Tournament’ For $1 Million Prize

Former Penn State men’s basketball star John Harrar is continuing to make moves following graduation.

On Tuesday, Harrar announced that he’ll be competing in The Basketball Tournament, a 64-team single-elimination competition. The winning team will take home a $1 million prize at the end of the tournament.

Harrar will compete for the Men of Mackey, a team primarily made up of Purdue alumni.

The Basketball Tournament will begin on Saturday, July 16, and end on Tuesday, August 2.

Harrar played in 146 games for Penn State as a forward from 2017 to 2022, which is the most in program history. In his final season, the Pennsylvania native averaged 10.6 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game. He started in all 31 games.

It’s been an eventful summer for the King of Delco, as he attended a minicamp with the Philadelphia Eagles as a tight end last month.
