3/20 Coalition To Honor Osaze Osagie With ‘Would’ve-Been Birthday’ August 2
State College’s 3/20 Coalition will host a “would’ve-been birthday” celebration on Tuesday, August 2, to honor Osaze Osagie, a community member who was fatally shot three years ago.
The celebration will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at 3 Dots Downtown. According to an event flyer, State College residents are encouraged to honor Osagie’s life and “be a part of Osaze’s Beloved Community.”
The celebration will include activities and initiatives for community members to engage in. Through the celebration, the 3/20 Coalition said it strives to “fight for Black Lives and Mental Health.”
Osagie, who would have been 33 on Tuesday, was fatally shot in his own home on March 20, 2019, when three police officers arrived to serve Osagie a mental health warrant. No officers have been charged.
