John Harrar Signs With Spanish Basketball Team Grupo Alega Cantabria

The King of Delco is going international.

Former Penn State men’s basketball star John Harrar inked a deal with Grupo Alega Cantabria CBT of the Spanish Basketball Federation.

Grupo Alega Cantabria CBT plays in Torrelavega, a municipality in the northern region of Spain. The team competes in the Spanish Basketball Federation’s Gold League but did not make the playoffs last season.

Harrar celebrated the signing on Instagram, writing, “Set Goals. Work Hard. Have Fun. Set New Goals!”

Harrar played in 146 games for Penn State from 2017-2022, which is a school record. The forward averaged 10.6 points per game last season.

Harrar had a productive summer, playing as a tight end in the Philadelphia Eagles’ minicamp in May and competing for a $1 million prize through “The Basketball Tournament” in June.
