‘Oeuf Boeuf Et Bacon’ French Diner To Open In Former Location Of Baby’s Burgers & Shakes
It appears that the former location of the iconic Baby’s Burgers & Shakes will no longer be vacant this fall. A new French diner, Oeuf Boeuf et Bacon, is expected to open in downtown State College.
Located at 131 S Garner Street, the diner will serve American classics with a French twist.
According to its description on Google, the restaurant will serve breakfast classics all day. Customers can expect to see French classics, such as steak frites, in addition to a milkshake and ice cream soda bar.
Baby’s closed its door in the summer of 2020, as the owners prepared to enter retirement. Originally, the downtown staple was expected to return in the fall of 2020 with new owners, but the restaurant permanently closed.
Oeuf Boeuf et Bacon — which is French for “egg, beef, and bacon” — will tentatively open in September.
Nationally acclaimed chef Gillian Clark and partner Robin Smith will add the diner to their long list of business ventures.
Clark has appeared — and won — on Food Network’s “Throwdown with Bobby Flay,” and her restaurant, The General Store, was featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diner’s, Drive-ins, and Dives.” Additionally, she is the author of the empowering memoir, “Out of the Frying Pan.”
The chef’s success also materialized in Brooklyn, New York, with BAGOCK, a fried chicken and donut restaurant.
Oeuf Boeuf et Bacon will join The Squirrel And Acorn Bookshop, Way Fruit Farm, Mezeh Mediterranean Grill, and Planet Fitness, as new businesses that are set to open in downtown State College in the near future.
