Penn State Field Hockey Ranked No. 11 In Preseason Poll
Yet another Penn State sports team is ranked in the top 25 nationally.
Penn State field hockey is ranked No. 11 in the preseason NFHCA coaches poll.
The Nittany Lions are coming off a 2021-2022 season where they finished 14-6 overall and 6-2 in the Big Ten.
Penn State is the sixth-highest-ranked team in the Big Ten. The team sits behind Northwestern (No. 1), Michigan (No. 3), Maryland (No. 4), Iowa (No. 5), and Rutgers (No. 8).
On August 26, the Nittany Lions will begin their season by hosting the Virginia Cavaliers (ranked No. 12 in the poll). Just two days later, they host Louisville, when fans can donate shirts from non-Penn State universities to exchange for free gear supporting the Nittany Lions.
Penn State field hockey is set to play this season’s games amidst construction, as ongoing construction and upgrades facing its stadium continue to progress.
