What Other Penn State Brand Collaborations Would Look Like

By Tobey Prime, Zach Donaldson, Rachel Padnis, and Mikey DeAngelis

Nearly two weeks ago, Family Clothesline was flooded with college students trying to get their hands on the newest ‘Lululemon x Penn State’ collaboration. With move-in weekend happening around the same time the clothes dropped, it was safe to say that downtown State College was a madhouse.

However, amid all the craziness, we at Onward State thought beyond a simple jacket or a pair of leggings. In fact, we believe that Penn State can go even bigger.

So, we put our brains together and worked on a few other brands that Penn State could collaborate with in the upcoming future. Some are day-to-day fits, while others may be saved for a special night. Regardless, all are must haves.

Without further ado, let’s dive right into it.

The North Face

We’re starting off with an absolute classic: The North Face and Penn State collaboration.

This hoodie is perfect for the fall season that’s quickly approaching. Whether you want to wear this to football games, classes, or use it as a fracket, it’s sure to turn some heads. We’re honestly surprised this collaboration hasn’t happened yet, but hopefully, we can get the ball rolling on this.

Gucci

Our first designer suggestion is none other than Gucci.

Now, you may be asking yourself, “Why would such an established university want to collaborate with Gucci? That seems ridiculous.”

However, what you should be asking is, “Why hasn’t such a dominant designer brand broken into the college market? This would be revolutionary.”

No other college has a deal with a high fashion brand, and Gucci could be first! Talk about the first day of classes drip when you throw on the “Go Lions” Gucci collab.

YSL

This is for all the ladies out there!

The YSL x PSU purse would be perfect for nights out at the bars. Not only can you keep all your belongings safe and secure, but you can also look fly while doing it. The blue bag with a gold chain is sure to have all the boys coming for you. It’s YSL, so those broke boys won’t have shit on you.

Bape

Do people still rock Bape? Well, we are sure they will after this collaboration drops.

The Nittany Lion hood and classic Bape camo are sure to be a top football game day hit. The hood actually serves as a dual threat because not only can you show support for the greatest mascot in college, but you can zip it all the way up and use it as a shield when Penn State football ultimately disappoints you later this season (we’re kidding!).

Polo Ralph Lauren

It doesn’t feel right to not mention Joe Paterno, so it only feels correct to use him for the Polo Ralph Lauren collab.

This simple, yet iconic polo is perfect for the frat brothers as they prep for their day longs, or even dads trying to up their closest with the latest style. Regardless, the JoePa Polo is sure to sell out once it hits the shelves.

Supreme

For all the Supreme-crazed Penn Staters out there, and we know there are some, this one is for you.

Can you imagine how fast a Penn State x Supreme drop would sell out? We’d bet almost faster than football student tickets. Or the time it takes Ticketmaster to crash whenever you try to buy tickets.

If you can afford the price tag on this one, it’s an immediate flex. It says you have style, dough, and rep Penn State — the “Supreme State.” But, you can’t spill anything on it, or that’s hundreds of dollars right down the drain.
