A Brief Look At The Best 2022 Penn State Gameday Apparel

A new Penn State football season has arrived, which means a new wave of fashion will be taking on the tailgate lots. Gone are the days of just your basic navy t-shirts and lion ears.

This year, we are diving into a world of overalls, Lululemon, and cow print…yes, you heard us right.

As you prepare to create your perfect gameday fit, here’s what you can expect to find in the stores of downtown State College this football season.

Cozy Sweatshirts

I know it’s only the start of September, but Big Ten football weather will be upon us soon! Lion & Cub is currently popping with multiple cozy sherpa sweatshirts. Stock up now to avoid freezing in Beaver Stadium later! You’ll be thankful in two months.

Overalls

I am obsessed with these overalls, and there is a chance they are hanging in my closet right now. These are perfect for this year’s Stripe Out! Plus, the pocket on the front is big enough to fit any ~gameday beverages~ you may want to travel with. Spend some cash on these at the Penn State Student Bookstore located downtown.

This Frat Boy Shirt

I just know Family Clothesline went to the closest frat house and found their merchandise chair to design this. With that being said, I really like the fun design. It’s something you don’t see often in downtown stores. The Nittany Lion looks so calm and relaxed, as he should be.

Life Is Good Shirt

Life is good when you’re tailgating at Penn State. Life can be even better when you are tailgating at Penn State with a dog ready to grill on your shirt.

Happy Tailgater Shirt

I don’t expect to see any students wearing this, but Penn State parents? Yes. These would be the parents that come with the full spread each week — hamburgers, hot dogs, and beer. They aren’t here for the game. They are here to provide for the intoxicated, hungry students that may wander their way.

What The Hell Is This?

I love cows, and I love Penn State (Editors Note: Noted cow expert Dana June Nunemacher). However, I don’t see a need to put the two together. I’m confused by what the hell this is supposed to be. McLanahan’s really just bought a pair of cow pants and slapped a Penn State logo on them. This isn’t moo-tastic.

A Shirt For The Little Lions

This one is for the littlest lion in your life! I found this shirt while wandering the rows of McClanahan’s after seeing the cow print disaster above. Run, don’t walk, to grab this before your little one’s first tailgate!
