Penn State Arboretum To Host Annual Pumpkin Giveaway October 2

It’s time to get out the carving knives again.

The Arboretum’s pumpkin giveaway for its annual jack-o’-lantern contest will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 2.

The Arboretum expects to give away up to 1,000 pumpkins on Sunday. Finished jack-o’-lanterns can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, October 7.

The jack-o’-lanterns will be displayed at the Pumpkin Festival, which will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on October 7, and from 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 8.

The festival, which is free to attend, offers food vendors, activities, and crafts. Local bands will perform in the Overlook Pavilion during select hours.
