Your Guide To Penn State Homecoming 2022’s Events

Homecoming 2022 is right around the corner and with it comes a week filled with fun events to celebrate our Dear Old State.

So grab your black and pink and make sure you’re up to speed on these events leading up to Penn State’s White Out against Minnesota on Saturday, October 22.

Sunday, October 16

THON 5k

When & Where: 8 a.m. — Bryce Jordan Center

This year’s festivities will kick off by raising money for the kids. Starting at 8 a.m., Penn Staters can run in State College or anywhere in the world as part of THON’s hybrid 5k run.

Monday, October 17

Allen Street Jam

When & Where: 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. — Allen Street

Come celebrate Penn State Homecoming with food, games, live music, performances, and more at the Allen Street Jam block party between Beaver and College Avenue.

Tuesday, October 18

Past to Present

When & Where: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. — HUB

Explore the history of the university and some of your favorite Penn State organizations at this living history museum.

Grand Marshal Q&A

When & Where: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. — HUB’s Freeman Auditorium

Visit the Freeman Auditorium for the chance to ask this year’s grand marshal and former Penn State wrestler David Taylor questions in this Q&A-style event.

For the Glory Talent Show

When & Where: 7 p.m. — Schwab Auditorium

Penn State is full of talented individuals, so you should definitely swing by Schwab Auditorium to watch your peers and campus organizations show off their hidden talents.

Wednesday, October 19

Best of Penn State Homecoming Carnival

When & Where: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. — HUB Lawn

Just when Homecoming couldn’t get any better, a carnival comes around to make celebrating our beloved alma mater that much more fun. Stop by the HUB Lawn in the afternoon for rides, games, and a good time.

Opulence x Homecoming Drag Show

When & Where: 8:30 p.m. — HUB’s Alumni Hall

For just $5, you can enjoy a ~killer~ Halloween-themed drag show with Opulence, Penn State’s drag ambassadors.

Thursday, October 20

Pep Rally

When & Where: HUB

Penn State is home to a diverse student body and a wide variety of cultures from around the world. Celebrate and learn more about different cultures through dance, spoken word, and more with some of Penn State’s different cultural-based organizations at the Pep Rally!

Friday, October 21

Alumni Ice Cream Social

When & Where: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. — Hintz Alumni Center

Calling all students, alumni, and Penn State community members to the Hintz Family Alumni Center. You can enjoy ice cream from the Berkey Creamery, as well as live music, a cash-only Homecoming merch sale, and even a special performance by the alumni Blue Band.

Parade

When & Where: 6 p.m. — College Avenue

Who doesn’t love a good parade? Come watch alumni, community groups, and student organizations parade through downtown State College in one of the largest student-run parades in the nation as they show off their Penn State pride.

Saturday, October 22

Homecoming Football Game

When & Where: 7:30 p.m. — Beaver Stadium

The Homecoming football game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. as the Nittany Lions face off against the Minnesota Golden Gophers for this year’s White Out. With the black and pink S-Zone, the “Generations of Greatness” uniforms, the presentation of the Homecoming Courts, grand marshals, and more, this game is a perfect way to close out the weekend.

Guard The Lion Shrine

When & Where: 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. — Lion Shrine

In this time-honored Homecoming tradition, members of Penn State’s Army ROTC will stand guard and protect the beloved Lion Shrine during Saturday’s game. There will be food, games, activities, live entertainment, and more.
