Penn State-Ohio State Tabbed For ‘Big Noon Kickoff’

We hope you like Big Noon Kickoff, folks!

No. 10 Penn State football’s October 29 matchup against No. 2 Ohio State will kick off at noon on FOX, as announced by the network Saturday.

Their matchup with the Buckeyes will be the Nittany Lions’ fourth noon kickoff of this season. The “Big Noon Kickoff” announcement came while the show was in Ann Arbor for Penn State’s top-10 matchup against Michigan.

Penn State-Ohio State has been long rumored for a noon start time after it was reported that FOX picked up the game’s rights. With FOX also televising the World Series’ game two, it was deemed unlikely that the network would create a ratings conflict for itself.

As a result of the rumor, Penn State announced Minnesota as the team’s White Out matchup for the 2022 season, as many Nittany Lion fans voted against a noon White Out in a Twitter poll from the program.

Last season, Penn State traveled to Columbus, where it ended up losing 33-24. Penn State hasn’t beaten Ohio State since 2016.

Currently, Ohio State is ranked at No. 2, while Penn State is at No. 10 — though with a matchup against No. 5 Michigan yet to occur, those rankings are subject to change. The Nittany Lions are currently 5-0 on the season. The Buckeyes are 6-0, having beaten teams such as Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Michigan State.
