No. 16 Penn State Opens As Two-Touchdown Favorite Over Indiana

No. 16 Penn State football has opened up as a 13.5-point favorite for its November 5 matchup with Indiana, according to Oddsshark.

Penn State is 6-2 and coming off a loss in which it hung with No. 2 Ohio State for a large chunk of the game but crumbled in the fourth quarter, allowing 28 points en route to a 44-31 loss.

Penn State is 5-3 against the spread this season following a back-door cover against the Buckeyes. Indiana, on the other hand, is 3-5 both on the season and against the spread.

The over/under is set at 54.5 points, which has hit in five of Indiana’s eight games this season and in five of Penn State’s, too.

Penn State is 8-2 in its last 10 matchups with Indiana, and last year the Nittany Lions shut out the Hoosiers in Happy Valley, comfortably covering the 12.5-point spread. Over its last 10 matchups with Indiana, Penn State is 5-5 against the spread.

The Hoosiers are unranked and have dropped five straight by an average of 13.5 points. They started off the season strong with 3-0 record, including a win over now-No. 14 Illinois, but have faltered since.

Indiana is 3-2 at home and 0-3 on the road, while Penn State is 4-1 and 2-1 in the same categories with losses to Ohio State and Michigan, two teams currently in the College Football Playoff picture.

This year’s showdown will go down in Bloomington, Indiana, with kickoff slated for 3:30 p.m. on ABC on Saturday.
