Gameday Coverage: No. 15 Penn State vs. Indiana

Penn State is coming off a heartbreaking 44-31 loss to Ohio State at Beaver Stadium last weekend and is aiming to bounce back with a much-needed victory in Bloomington.

The Nittany Lions enter the game 6-2 with a potential quarterback controversy, as fans have been calling for Drew Allar to make his first career start. Indiana is coming into the game with five consecutive losses, most recently to Rutgers two weeks ago. Coming off their bye week, it’s safe to assume the Hoosiers will come out swinging.

It may not be as exciting of a game as Penn Staters have watched in the last few weeks, but every game means the same in the standings. So, here’s everything you need to know about Penn State’s clash with the Hoosiers.

Television

Saturday’s matchup will kick off at 3:30 p.m. EST on ABC. Bob Wischusen and Dan Orlovsky will be on the call, while Kris Budden provides updates from the sidelines.

Radio

Penn State Sports Network — Steve Jones and Jack Ham
Local: 99.5 & 103.7 FM/1450 AM, Sirius/XM/Internet: 135/195/957

Weather

Mother Nature won’t be too kind to the game tomorrow. Expect some rain and a lot of wind, according to AccuWeather. Temperatures will be in the mid-60s throughout the game, while the wind will stay steady at 20 miles per hour with gusts up to 40 miles per hour. There will be a wind advisory in effect from 8 a.m. through 8 p.m. in Bloomington, as well.

Last Meeting

Penn State clocked Indiana in a 24-0 shutout at Beaver Stadium last October. Sean Clifford threw for three touchdowns and an interception while completing 17-of-33 passes for 178 yards. Jahan Dotson had a phenomenal outing with eight catches for 84 yards and two touchdowns.

Brent Pry’s defense had its best game of the season against the Hoosiers, allowing zero points and holding quarterback Michael Penix Jr. for only 118 passing yards on 22 attempts and an interception.

Injuries/Suspensions

As we know, Zuriah Fisher is out for the season with an undisclosed injury. Penn State is a bit banged up across the offensive line. The statuses of Olu Fashanu, Hunter Nourzad, and Landon Tengwall are all unknown. Meanwhile, Keyvone Lee has been fighting an undisclosed injury for the last few weeks. If we see him out on the field, we can expect him to play a very limited role.

As for Indiana, linebacker Cam Jones will probably miss his fourth straight game with a foot injury, while wide receiver Cam Camper, the Hoosiers’ top playmaker, will be out for the year with a torn ACL.

Betting Lines

Penn State is currently a 13.5-point favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under is set at 51.5 points.
