‘THIS JUST MADE EVERYTHING BETTER’: Penn Staters Psyched Over Rose Bowl News

After a tumultuous week of speculation and watching other teams, No. 11 Penn State’s bowl fate is officially known. The Nittany Lions will be smelling roses, as they’ll prepare to take on Utah at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

This year will see the Nittany Lions’ first Rose Bowl appearance since 2017 and their first New Year’s Six bowl game since the Cotton Bowl in 2019. On the other side, No. 8 Utah secured the Pac-12 championship, defeating USC 47-24 Saturday.

The energy was palpable, as a litany of Nittany Lion fans and players took to social media to express their excitement.

Defensive tackle Dvon Ellies was quick to share his anticipation.

Onward State, indeed.

Not sure what to say about this one.

Even though most fans saw the positive side, a handful of Penn Staters used the news as an opportunity to voice their frustrations about Sean Clifford, James Franklin, CFP rankings, and the kickoff time.

Some fans wondered if the Rose Bowl’s esteem will impact certain players’ decisions about playing in the postseason.

One Utah fan took time to aim some trash talk at a certain sixth-year quarterback.

But that quarterback seems unbothered, happily reflecting on the opportunity presented to him.
