Reports: Penn State Football’s Marquis Wilson Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State football cornerback Marquis Wilson has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to multiple reports (247Sports, On3).

Wilson has spent the previous four seasons with the Nittany Lions after committing to James Franklin’s program as a four-star recruit back in 2018.

Despite never being a full-time starter, Wilson has served as a consistent contributor for Penn State during his time in Happy Valley. The Connecticut native has totaled 55 tackles, two interceptions, and three forced fumbles while donning the blue and white, including a career-high 20 tackles this past season.

Wilson even spent some time on the other side of the ball in 2021 as a wideout, catching three passes for 29 yards. He returned to being a full-time corner in 2022, though.

If he were to remain a Nittany Lion in 2023, Wilson would be a part of a cornerback room set to be headlined by Kalen King, Storm Duck, and Johnny Dixon.

Wilson joins running back Keyvone Lee as the latest Penn State football player to enter the transfer portal. Players like Christian Veilleux, Rodney McGraw, and Fatorma Mulbah have already announced their next destinations, while others like Jamari Buddin remain in the portal.
