Wrestling National Championship, Rose Bowl Trophy To Be Displayed At Penn State-Iowa Dual

It’s unclear if Iowa will bring along its Music City Bowl trophy.

Both Penn State wrestling’s 2022 National Championship trophy and Penn State football’s 2023 Rose Bowl trophy will be on display at the Bryce Jordan Center for Friday night’s widely anticipated dual between the No. 1 Nittany Lions and No. 2 Iowa.

From 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., portal 27 on the BJC’s concourse will house the trophies. Fans are invited to take photos alongside the championship hardware.

The Nittany Lions secured the Leishman Trophy after defeating Utah 35-21 in Pasadena, California earlier this year. Longtime quarterback Sean Clifford entered the game of his career, as he and his teammates rolled to the program’s second-ever Rose Bowl victory.

Cael Sanderson’s roster of wrestling phenoms took home the national championship last season after five Nittany Lions also earned spots in the individual national championship finals.

This season, Penn State wrestling is maintaining its usual spot atop the sport. The undefeated Nittany Lions are coming off a string of dominant performances including a 30-8 win against No. 3 Michigan last week.
