It’s All About Location: An Open Letter To The Penn State All-Sports Museum

Dear Penn State All-Sports Museum,

Hello! How are you? I had a thought regarding your current location, and believe there might just be a potential upgrade in store for you.

Since the Palmer Museum of Art is moving to the Arboretum, now is the perfect time to take its spot by moving your museum from Beaver Stadium to a more ideal location for students.

It should theoretically be convenient to make a pit stop at the All-Sports Museum after a home football game, but fans are more likely to continue tailgating instead of taking in all of the wonderful history and athletics relics you have to offer.

It’s awesome that we have a museum that honors Penn State Athletics, but it could be even better if it were housed in a more visible and accessible location. In your current location, it’s prone to be forgotten by the student body.

Moving your museum would allow students direct access to all of your sports memorabilia, rather than having to make the trip all the way to Beaver Stadium. College students are pretty busy, and quite frankly don’t have the time for such a hefty hike.

You recently welcomed students to “smell the roses” at your museum, showcasing the beloved Leishman Trophy for a short period of time. If the museum was on campus, more students could’ve experienced the glory of the trophy, while simultaneously basking in some of Penn State Athletics’ finest moments.

The Palmer Museum could be the perfect home for you, All-Sports Museum. Imagine the hustle and bustle in your museum every 50 minutes when the Forum Building releases its students from lecture. Incredible!

The Penn State community will surely give the new Palmer Museum loads of attention when it opens its doors at the Arboretum. Don’t you want the same treatment?

Do yourself and Penn State a favor and take a load off at the Palmer Museum so that everyone can celebrate the achievements and history of Penn State Athletics.

Kind regards,

Evan
