Crafting The Best THON Haikus
We are currently breaking out of the graveyard shift and into a new day, but our sanity is slowly starting to slip away. So, what does one do when they are on the brink of insanity? Write haikus, of course!
If you didn’t pay attention to a singular English class in high school, a haiku is a short, unrhymed poem that adheres to a specific three-line, 17-syllable format.
Now that you’re educated, let’s get into some THON haikus.
Dancing for a cure
All seven hundred people,
No sitting on floor.
Tutus, fanny packs,
Flood the BJC concourse,
Wow! You look so good.
Sitting on press row,
We say hello to our foe,
Oh no! They don’t dance!
Tennis balls, massage,
For your feet that hurt so bad,
All for a good cause.
Look! Sororities,
Frats, clubs, orgs; you see them all,
Together at THON.
Live singers and bands,
Pumping up the crowd all day.
It’s just all good vibes.
The motto is clear:
For The Kids and for a cure,
The City of THON.
Big, glowing letters,
Bouncing up and down to beats,
All over the stands.
