[Photo Story] International Student Council Celebrates ‘We Are The World’ Event

Penn State’s International Student Council hosted its “We Are The World” event Wednesday night in the HUB’s Alumni Hall.

Students and guests gathered to celebrate diversity on campus and showcase international talent.

The Malaysian Student Association combined five traditional dances in its performance.

A stand was set up with arts and crafts. Some students even made origami cranes.

Afrique Fusion, Penn State’s African Student Association dance team, showcased various African cultures in its powerful performance.

There were plenty of photo-ops throughout Alumni Hall.

The Fuzhou Student Association, a new club at Penn State, shared that it has a goal to host Chinese events in English to share its culture in State College.

The International Women Society is a club for global women, run by global women. The club invites women across the world to become friends. It hosts on and off-campus events.

The winner of the dance competition, which was open to all attendees, was awarded a $100 gift card.

Nikitha Kanumuru told a beautiful story about a goddess slaying a demon.

Students are invited to attend ISC’s future events and experience its work in bringing international students together to celebrate diversity and culture within the Penn State community.
