THON To Host ‘Chasing Fearless Futures’ THON 5K October 22

THON will hold its annual 5K at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 22, to spread awareness for the organization and raise money for childhood cancer.

The theme for this year’s race is “Chasing Fearless Futures.” The event will feature opportunities to engage with Four Diamonds families, meet THON volunteers, purchase THON merchandise, partake in games and activities, and enjoy live music, guest speakers, and food.

The route and registration will start at the Bryce Jordan Center near Gate A.

Folks can plan for programming to begin at 9 a.m., a line dance at 10 a.m., the pep rally at 10:45 a.m., and the 5K to begin at 11:30 a.m.

More scheduled events on the day of the 5K are listed below.

  • 9 a.m. — Programming begins
  • 10 a.m. — Line dance
  • 10:05 a.m. — Family speaker
  • 10:45 a.m. — Pep rally
  • 11:15 a.m. — Kid’s race
  • 11:30 a.m. — THON 5k
  • 11:50 a.m — Donnie Burns & the Third Degree performance

Anyone interested in participating in the event can register here or in person on the day of the race. Registration costs $10 and can be credited to an organization, with a portion of each registration fee going directly to Four Diamonds. If you can’t race here on campus, THON invites anyone to join the THON Around the World Challenge and earn $1 per mile run for THON from October 15 to 22.
